So I have been a very naughty and negligent blogger lately, which is completely inexcusable. I’ve given myself a stern talking-to and have promised myself to be better. The truth is that posting here forces me to find interest in the quotidian, and often mundane, activities that make up my life.
So far, I’ve told you about my job as a nanny, I’ve described a few DIY projects I’ve done recently, and occasionally posted a picture of an outfit I particularly adore. I’ve even posted a recipe or two. In light of my recent epiphany that I’m meant to do something with cuisine and the realization that I’m in need of some serious self-teaching before I can even CONSIDER pursuing a culinary* career, I’ll probably babble on about my efforts to learn to make a perfect poached egg or about how many times I’ll surely maim myself while learning proper knife skills. Bear with me.
I won’t apologize for the eclectic mix of topics I cover on this little blog. Did I mention that I am a very selfish blogger? It’s true. I do this for myself more than for you, whoever you may be! So while you can’t expect any increase in focus for the time being (although if there IS a topic you find more interesting than the others, be sure to comment and tell me so), you can feel happy knowing that I’m going to [try] to keep myself to a more regular posting schedule. Keep reading. I’m happy you’re along for the ride.
*Can anyone tell me which pronunciation of “culinary” is more correct: KUHL-uh-ner-ee or KYOO-luh-ner-ee? Dictionary.com offers both options. I grew up using the former, but recently I’ve heard the latter from people I respect in the industry. I can’t help feeling that it sounds a bit pretentious! Help!
